Our Biggest Difference
No one else in North America
has an open-die press as large as the Lehigh Heavy Forge 10,000 ton press. At the
heart of our operation, the 10,000 ton hydraulic press direct and upset forges ingots
as large as 130 in. diameter and 600,000 pounds. The power of the press allows us to use
larger dies that yield vastly superior internal soundness. Using computerized
controls, our experienced forgemasters also perform intricate forging operations and
form very complex shapes.
Lehigh
Heavy Forge can supply a range of open-die forgings - as forged, heat treated or heat
treated and machined - in shipping weights of up to 450,000 pounds. Plus, the press enables us
to produce large diameter, forged steel rolls, shells and cylinders that are some of the
strongest and most durable in the industry. The use of advanced computer
modeling techniques in our engineering process allows us to design components that meet your
exact specifications.
Expanded Facilities
In the past few years,
multi-million-dollar capital improvements were made to our forge shop, machine shops and
heat treatment
facilities. This permits us to forge precise, complex shapes. Precision
machining is done on our wide ranging NC and CNC machine tools for turning, milling (both horizontal and vertical) and
grinding. Finally, the best heat treatment practice is selected to meet your exact
requirements. The treatment can be done in certified furnaces with a variety of
quench media.
Excellent
Technical Support
Our technical staff of
experienced engineers posses the background to assist you with virtually any product or
problem. From inquiry to shipment, they make certain that we understand and meet your
needs and expectations. Our skilled professionals are dedicated to processing your orders
correctly from start to finish. They are always at your service.

About Lehigh Heavy Forge
A stainless-steel forging for a
nuclear fuel transport cask. A precision-ground, hardened-steel roll for a sheet mill. A
230,000-pound back-up roll or an intricate press cylinder. At Lehigh Heavy Forge, we
manufacture the largest and most complex open-die forgings in North America for a wide
variety of industries.
We forge, heat-treat and grind
components from carbon, alloy and stainless steels. We can also create components from
tool and die steels plus nickel-base and other non-ferrous alloys. Nuclear-reactor parts,
turbine-generator shafts, propulsion shafts, rolling-mill spindles and hydraulic cylinders
are just a few of the complex components we produce for use in nuclear equipment,
electrical power generation, national defense, metal-producing and capital goods
industries.
